That's what I mean. The original gecko was just a gag character (was he
voiced by Kelsey Grammer? That's what Christina H. of Cracked said today.)
who existed to simply say he's not Geico, he's a gecko. When they brought
him back and started making him a character with a personality, they
actually had to cast an appropriate voice for him.
