It looks like there will be some taped coverage on ABC. The report also confirms that there will be live coverage on ESPN3, though it is not clear if this will include the Finals. If NBC's offer was to have its cable partner by Versus instead of ESPN, then I think the choice of going with ESPN was a no-brainer for Wimbledon. *********************** "All matches will be carried live on ESPN, ESPN3 and the ESPN mobile app. Some taped programming will appear on ABC. The deal was first reported by the SportsBusiness Daily. ESPN would not confirm the deal. But in a statement, NBC Sports said, “We are proud of our 43-year partnership with the All-England Club and while we would have liked to have continued our relationship, we were simply outbid.” NBC was looking to combine its broadcast rights with cable coverage on Versus, its corporate cousin under Comcast. All matches would have been live under the NBC-Versus plan starting in 2014, unlike some coverage that NBC has carried on tape-delay. The Tennis Channel’s share of Wimbledon cable rights have also expired but it is looking to renew them." -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
