...was taken to a hospital in Bethlehem Tuesday.*

As a young girl she broke an ankle jumping off something, and ever
since, her right foot has pointed permanently sideways; she apparently
re-injured it from multiple falls.

Add to that chronic swelling and resulting infections in her feet and
lower legs, stuff that only goes away with activity she for many
reasons has avoided, and now she lays waiting for a decision about all
of these things.

She's otherwise quite a headstrong woman with the pride of a Briton
suffering through WWII -- the area where she grew up was largely
populated by Cornish emigrants, tho her exact connection to that
heritage was never actively studied by any of us -- but it's unclear
if she can channel that pride (pun intended) towards recovery.

TV reference: I don't think anyone in the local health-care community
are the Greg House type.

Dad and I are understandably down, and the rudely-hot weather, plus
the fact the IronPigs were no-hit Wednesday, aren't helping.

I appreciate your respect.

*The local hospital tried, and failed miserably, to help her some
years ago.
