Two minutes left in tonight's episode and the boys have stepped nowhere near the hangar. I suspect that encapsulates the good and the bad of this show. The films are comparable to the mothership, even those that tackle the same basic tasks (tonight you get a different spin on the crossing a lake by car film). I'd give the Americans the slight advantage because they are a bit more believable in their utter incompetence than their British cousins.
But the lack of in-hangar content underscores that when we do have those segments, they stink. No news, very little Stig, and most weeks both the star and the car are small. I know there's some lag time between shooting and airing, and I know NASCAR has a six-week offseason at best, but the lack of auto news and motor sports content in the show's third season are a serious drawback.
