I keep watching and enjoying the show, so I suppose my frustration is with what
I see (rightly or wrongly) as a program that could be more popular with a bit
more engagement with the wider American motoring universe.  Or maybe there are
just too many motoring shows on the higher-tiered cable programs to make a
difference.

I haven't spent time with Octane Academy, but I generally avoid competition
reality shows unless the challenges are taken as seriously as they are on Top
Gear.

FWIW, the boys did close the show from the hangar.  And they don't obsess over
supercars nearly as much as their mid-life crises colleagues in the UK.

Subject: Re: [TV orNotTV] Top Gear USA Season 3

The taping of Top Gear I attended mid December was probably among the
last of this coming season, which would mean any "news" segments will
be nearly five months out-of-date. The show's format has evolved into
something different than the UK series, relying almost entirely on the
challenges amongst the three hosts. My two favorite segments are the
challenges and the news, and my least favorites are the test drives
and Stig lap times, so I'm fine with the omissions.

Anybody catch Stig... er... I mean Tanner Faust in "Octane Academy"? I
downloaded the first episode as a video podcast a few days ago but
haven't sat down to watch it yet.
