And now an informant (my daughter) tells me that the offending song was at the very end, and that they must have replaced "The Look of Love" with "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" (which apparently had been released by the appropriate date). But, if this is the case, then what was the big deal? I thought they were worried about a song that was actually part of the show, not the end credits. Wiener had said "Although we take license for artistic purposes with the end-title music, we never want the source music to break from the time period we are trying to recreate". So this was end-title music, which they give themselves permission to play around with. I guess Wiener is saying that since the song was so close to the period, it could give the impression of trying to be historically accurate and missing; while if it had been a song that was clearly not even trying to be historically accurate, they would have let it go. -- TV or Not TV ....
