A few things: To my knowledge, none of the local affils or O&Os have sports editors anymore. A few of the stations don't even have sports anchors anymore. Most are operating with between 40 to 60 percent of the staff they used to have, and many of the low rungs on the ladder have to begun their days with the drop-ins during the Today show (or other morning shows) and don't leave until the 11pm newscasts end. Also, if you count the Ducks, we have two LA hockey teams, but the vast majority doesn't care about either unless they make the playoffs. In short, complaining about LA hockey coverage is a bit like complaining about the quality of food or service at a Denny's.
