I think one of the things that Rebeck wanted, and is going out the door with her, was casting broadway regulars in the show and possibly doing more musical numbers with more of the cast. If the number of incidental musical numbers is being cut, and minor characters will not get the chance to sing and dance, then the network would rather cast actors and the current actors would rather look for work where they can sing and dance. Jaime Cepero (Ellis) has credits in Porgy & Bess, Hair, and Jesus Christ Superstar. Brian d'Arcy James has too many credits to list but he never got a musical number to do. Raza Jaffrey did Mamma Mia and Bombay Dreams in London and he only got one number to do. Will Chase (Michael) has a lot of credits but there was nowhere for his character to go. -- TV or Not TV ....
