And yet, in some ways, VEEP is Iannucci redoing "The Thick of It" for an American audience. And it pretty much worked. Thus, I'm a little flummoxed by what Iannucci said. Of course, there's little sense in actually doing "The Think of It" with its UK goverment setting as an American sitcom, while many American offices have IT divisions that could be fodder for sitcom hijinks - if properly written and cast.
