NBC provided the only reliable live internet feed, so that was my choice. I've started writing a long-form article about media coverage during tragedies because -- much like severe weather coverage -- it has fallen into a pattern, and the pattern is broken. The pattern for covering tragedies is to do as little journalism as possible, and we'd be better off if -- instead of breaking news coverage -- networks just aired reruns of SpongeBob whenever tragedies occur. I'll probably post what I've written on the TV or not TV website later tonight, but I want to take some time to edit my thoughts before I do.
