I think it is self-serving of anyone from Glee to say he should be thankful for the free publicity. They didn't rip him off as a favor to him. They ripped him off because they felt it fit their show.
If they don't owe him money, fine. Copyright is a weird area with regard to arrangements. (This is all moot if they used his instrumental tracks on the show, though). But why begrudge him a credit. He deserves it. He did do the work. And yes, The Glee Project is superb. One of the best reality shows out there.
