Maybe they were just short and used it for filler. But, agreeing here with Dave, I think they left all three in because it really was funny - and they of course have no hang ups about letting the home audience know they are watching a TV show. I also agree with Dave that the Friday bit with the Top 10 (I guess taped Thursday? There was a Pope Francis reference, and so after the screw up with the phone call bit) was hilarious too (Dave went over and made the penultimate construction worker reading one of the Top Ten items do it again - and then again (the poor guy still did not get it quite right). I don't of course agree with Dave that these funny bits are the rare exception; Stewart and Colbert may have the highest funny per minute ratios in television these days, but I find myself laughing out loud at least once every other LS, and smiling contentedly more often than that. I am prepared to follow Dave happily into the sunset (I guess like my grandfather watched Guy Lombardo...) -- -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
