I was about to add Norm MacDonald's name to the list of aggressive and unfunny right wing comics, but he has gone and deleted most of his posts from the last few days wherein he was praising the new Pope, despite the Pope's stance on gay adoption, birth control, and possible ties to some seriously nasty sh*t down in Argentina. Several people, including me, attempted to enlighten Norm, who eventually apologized, but then he deleted his whole side of the thread of posts. The end result is it appears I engaged in a one-sided debate with Norm MacDonald, but -- worse than that -- several fanatics began spamming my Twitter feed, cussing me out and generally being annoying, which I now have to contend with.
I don't know if what Norm did was some sort of online performance art (you know, poke the bear with a stick and see what transpires), but I came very close to losing all respect for the man, and I didn't have all that much respect for him to begin with. -- Kevin M.
