Semi-related question: Does anybody know whether Matthew Keys (the Reuters social media guy, basically their online spokesperson) is still on suspension after his alleged ties to "Anonymous"? Because he still lists himself as working for Reuters on his Twitter. The reason I ask is because he frantically posts links to every news outlet's blind or unattributed statement. I told him news outlets cannot cite themselves or each other as sources... that the role of news gathering organizations is to collect and verify facts from independent sources. He disagreed and told me I know nothing about journalism. So the online spokesperson for one of the largest repositories of printed news gathering in the world actually believes it is acceptable to cite CNN or CBS or MSNBC as a source without bothering to check where those news outlets received their information. If he still works for Reuters. If not, he's just a boob. -- Kevin M. (RPCV) -- -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
