John King's mea culpa regarding last week's botched CNN coverage: http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2013/04/cnns-john-king-boston-blunder-embarrassing-162389.html
"In this case we had two reputable sources -- one of mine, one of a colleague's of mine -- who have been reliable in the past, who simply had bad information. We had two -- you never do that with one -- and we went with it, and we had to correct it." Actually, Mr. King, the standards I was taught require three sources -- three INDEPENDENT sources -- not two. You never do that with two. If you had held out for a third source, you probably wouldn't have anything to apologize for or regret regarding the coverage. -- Kevin M. (RPCV) -- -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
