For what it's worth, I watched the first episode of "Top of the Lake," where Elisabeth Moss affects a New Zealand accent. It's not bad, but it's not convincing like Agent Scully. Moss sometimes seems to lapse into a Murican accdent Holly Hunter is over-the-top as a cult leader. The first episode was okay. I'll watch one more but I don't think I'm going to finish it. Jane Campion directed it and the photography is beautiful, but I'm not getting the characters.
