The Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times and six other dailies will be spun
off into the new Tribune Publishing Co., so that it won't bog down the more
profitable broadcasting division--and perhaps make it easier to sell to the
Koch brothers?:

Interestingly enough, the Tribune Media Services syndicate division stays
with the Tribune Co., probably because its TV listings service to
newspapers, TiVo and DirecTV's EPG (and the zap2it.com web site) are what
drives that division now, not the comic strips that used to drive the
division (of which their present lineup seems to consist of either dogs
like Brewster Rockit: Space Guy! or strips that are past their prime like
Dick Tracy, Gasoline Alley and several others).
