Hasselbeck has always sat in the "young woman's seat," of which Mateopoulus (God, I hope I got that right--"Snuffleupagus" is easier to spell) and Ling were her predecessors. I'm sure Geddie would like to keep it that way, but that Drudge and Breitbart and Fox will start screaming about a liberal panel (even if I understand that Sherri Shepard leans to the right) and his bosses at ABC may force him to cast a right-winger. The potential problem is that I am afraid that your Coulter/Cupp/Palin type will not stay quiet during the celeb interview plugs and start a grand inquisition on the guest, even if politics are not brought up (that is, of course, unless the guest is Jon Voight/Vince Vaughn/Victoria Jackson/Ted Nugent/Pat Sajak/etc.). At least I assume that Hasselbeck has kept her mouth shut about politics during the celeb spots unless it's brought up.
