The four-night-a-week decision was apparently under consideration this summer, per Meyers at the TCA:

Lorne certainly has pull, given his involvement with Late Night, but Meyers is a voice, EP and writer on the Hulu animated show The Awesomes. If that gets a second season, Meyers may need that extra day.
