For me, there's a lot of Fallon's show to like (usually away from the desk). But his interviews are the weakest part for me (I think he and Kimmel are slightly ahead of Leno and far behind the rest). Breaking up in the middle of interviews and bits was old when he was still on SNL, and is more annoying to me now.
For me at least, he comes off as thinking himself better than his show demonstrates him to be. He's good, but he seems to think he's better than that and it bugs me. (I think much the same of Kimmel, but like him less because his comedy seems to rely on him being a jerk in a way that makes me sympathize with his targets.) FWIW, I think Carson's pre-Tonight hosting experience is comparable, if not superior, to Fallon's. Fallon is the only one my wife admits to liking. I like him a lot more than Leno, but not as much as SCG.
