And so once again a fecal matter load of stations use the same VNR (or 
network clip feed feature) to fill time on their newscasts, all using the 
same intro as written by the PR people and someone sends the clips to 
Conan's people, who then put up yet another montage of various vapid 
anchors saying the same words over and over and over:

How many times is Conan going to have to do this bit before stations stop 
this practice?  Do the stations assume (with some assurance, I would say) 
that the audience for what seems to be mostly morning or midday newscasts 
are not watching TBS at 11 p.m.?  On the other hand, I would hope that this 
will do more to end the practice of using VNRs instead of real journalism 
(or at least running them with alteration) than Amy Goodman droning on 
about them with her media/corporate watchdog guest for 20 minutes every few 
months.
