In college in Washington, I worked in my school's PR office and part of my list of chores included clipping out mention of the university in the newspapers. While the two larger papers (Seattle PI and Tacoma News Tribune at the time) wouldn't copy and paste, I'd say every other newspaper in the region would print our press releases exactly as we sent them out, oftentimes including the same headlines and spelling errors. Weekly or biweekly papers face the same issues as small market TV stations -- no money -- so often to fill column inches they include press releases. In summary, it does also happen in print, and with a great deal of frequency. > > > > > > On Thu, Feb 20, 2014 at 7:34 AM, Joe Coughlin <[email protected]>wrote: > >> Yeah, I don't think there's a big problem with an entertainment story or >> something national being covered on the local news with news feed copy. >> Newspapers do it all the time with AP or Reuters stuff.
