I want to refer back to a David Bauder item from January of this year that
mentioned (though I think this was known before this article) that they
shot the final *two-minute* scene in 2006 (which tips that the kids have
some connection). At the end, Bauder notes that Neil Patrick Harris knows
the ending and adds "It's more complicated than you would assume, and for
all of our fans, they won't be disappointed." I am guessing that Harris
would not have made a comment like that had what's being discussed is the
true ending, because the analysis in the EW articles is I think right, and
Harris is many things, but dumb ain't one of them.

That said, I think the fact that nearly a tenth of the episode will involve
wrapping things up with the kids on the couch does play into the idea that
we're going to find out a hell of a lot more than the title on March 31.
