I agree that Craig taking 11:35 would be an odd choice (though I won't say
it'd be a wrong choice). None of the others on the list are serious
contenders except maybe Seinfeld.

While I will always consider Letterman one of the giants of his field, his
retirement is actually an exciting prospect to me. For starters, no matter
where the chips fall, Lorne Michaels' bland hand won't have any part in
what happens, which makes the odds of me liking the CBS late night lineup
much greater than NBC's. I assume they will want to skew as young as
possible, but they also can't hire a talk show failure like Ryan Seacrest.
They won't go to Conan or Jay (or Arsenio, for that matter).

I could see them choosing someone like Chris Hardwick or one of the other
geek-friendly podcasters out there. I could also see them stealing Joel
McHale from The Soup.
