For better or worse, Conan is the elder statesman once Dave goes (though Jon Stewart's MTV show started the same year as Conan's Late Night, most just think of the 15 years at TDS). If CBS wants someone there for 20 years, they may not see Conan hanging around *that* long. That and he'd be 70.
