The last couple of live episodes of SNL have had a couple of technical issues,
at least here in Charlotte. In both weeks, my local station (WCNC) did not
return from a commercial break on time late in the show. Last week, the local
station also didn't cut away for the last commercial before the "good nights",
and we got a few minutes of the SNL slide while the band played.

We also saw the "network screen saver" after the show, the black screen with
the peacock "feathers" flying into place while the NBC chimes play.

Is all this stuff automated and occurring everywhere on the live feed, or are
the new station owners here (Gannett) still learning the equipment?
