I am having trouble tracking all of the branches on this analogy, but if
stannc means here that he did not like Chris Rock's monologue, then I will
register a disagreement. I thought it was good to great, and by far the
funniest part of the show. We were reminded again of why Rock is so funny
when he is doing stand up, and why he was so forgettable on SNL - he is not
a good actor, and not a particularly good sketch performer. I was even
disappointed with this week's iteration of "How's He Doing?" - the original
version of which, with Kerry Washington last year, is my nomination for the
best SNL sketch since Tina Fey's Sarah Palin (see original here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nI0ib11evdU).

I agree that the Carrey episode was not very good either, though there was
one sketch (can't recall the specifics now, which may not be a good
recommendation) that I thought was pretty good, if somewhat bizarre.
