So do I. It's interesting a few weeks ago Melissa Block was rather rough on Taylor Swift on "All Things Considered" (seemingly over not being a "role model for young people" in some of her songs) and a lot of the comments from NPR regulars were supportive of Block. Of course, the NPR audience is not Swift's audience (in fact, one commenter repeatedly claimed that Swift doesn't write her songs without any tangible proof, forgetting that the hook that got Swift where she was at such a young age *was* that she wrote her own material), but since the audience for NPR is more centrist than the far lefty Amy Goodman worshippers would like, they may very well be more willing to sympathize with someone they grew up with (that's both the aging Boomers and the rising Gen-X audience for NPR).
And this regular poster named "ben balz" who makes drive-by comments either about NPR kissing the military's ass or taking money for pop culture pieces (despite network policies that state the contrary and without any documented proof) and has called "Breaking Bad" "corporate dreck" and Judy Greer a "ditz," among other things, posted the following: What exactly went on here? Did Cosby buy a PR slot on Simon's show in attempt to deflect attention from the "meme" thing blowing up in his face, only to have Scott drop a bomb directly on his head? My response (if it gets by the NPR moderators): Where did you get this "buy a PR slot" crap, Mr. Drive-By? I just refreshed--it got through and he won't respond.
