Who could have predicted that the man who brought us "First Take" would not
be able to class up Today? (oh, right, everybody here).

notes that the word just last week (from the NY Post) was that “Horowitz is
the insider that NBC folks think has the inside shot at replacing her
[Turness]. He’s been kissing up to the Comcast brass with some effect.” It
also suggests that Horowitz was regarded as a jerk around the office. Looks
like a power play that went awry.

Deadline also has a nice Anne of Cleves reference, the point of which I
gather is that Horowitz position as GM of Today was never really
consummated, as he was not officially supposed to take over until December
1. As they point out, he was literally fired before he started.
