No.

I’ll try to be brief. Under two separate circumstances, my mother had to
return equipment via a UPS store to ATT Uverse. Both times ATT Uverse claimed
that it never received the equipment and billed my mother (for around $100 each
time, I think).

The first time my mother did not hold onto the UPS receipt, and I spent hours
on the phone with Uverse customer service trying to get the charge removed from
her bill. I didn’t succeed until I filed a complaint with the Better Business
Bureau. Now, my mother wanted to just pay the charge to get rid of the
aggravation, but I would not let her do it. BTW the same thing happened to a
friend of hers, another elderly woman, and she just paid rather than deal with
Uverse customer service.

A few months later my mother once again had to return equipment to Uverse.
This time she kept the UPS receipt. However, once again, she got a bill for
the equipment with Uverse claiming (once again) that it never received it. But
my mother was in Europe at the time, and I didn’t have access to the receipt.
However, my sister managed to get an electronic copy of the receipt from the
UPS store in Memphis.

When I called the customer service rep back, copy of the UPS receipt on my
computer screen, she wasn’t interested in obtaining any tracking numbers, other
data, etc. from it. She just immediately credited my mother’s account for the
“non-received” equipment. I told her that it appeared that the company was
running a scam and just to cut it out.

Lesson learned: never do business with ATT Uverse.

MelissaP, to Mark Jeffries, in part:

BTW if anyone’s curious about why my mother has Dish (when she has other
options, i.e., ATT Uverse* and Comcast), it’s because Dish carries at least a
couple of German language channels. She enjoys watching TV in her native
language.

*which runs an interesting and annoying scam I discovered

According to this thread on DSLReports
<http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r29482098-ATT-Uverse-scam> (link), their Net
speeds are a sick joke... dad's DSL might be twice this on a good day! Was this
what you meant, Melissa?
