I guarantee the time between the Report and Late Show will not be time off. I've worked on pre-production and development for shows that are not one of the largest properties on a network. Awards shows, for instance, are in pre-production three or four months before they air. And by all accounts Colbert is hands-on with most aspects of his show, which means he will have input in everything from set design to the band. He'll be auditioning writers and stage managers... ugh... I'm exhausted just thinking about it. If he's lucky he'll get two weeks off between shows... but I doubt it. -- Kevin M.
