I did not see any reference to ratings for the show - were they low or decreasing? Is the idea that they can get a lower priced replacement who will do similar numbers? I am disappointed (though of course not surprised). I thought this was almost the perfect show for KO (especially in the 30 minute version). It is not plausible that he is getting non-renewed because of the quality of the show, nor has he been particularly controversial (the only glitch really was the Penn State thing).
