true about the broadcast consortium formerly covering the debates.  What I
noticed about this one was that Macleans is a Rogers media outlet and the
live broadcast was carried on Rogers tv-channels (OMNI, and others).  So it
was effectively a Rogers show, but I guess they branded it Macleans.
They could have chosen Sportsnet for fun, or CITY-tv but it might have had
the wrong spin.

regardless of the above, I wonder why the conservatives said No to the
consortium thing, but yes to the above?
