He asked the guy why they were in such a rush to tear down the sets and gut the offices. The guy told him that they had a year's worth of work to do and five months to complete it. It's possible that there are digital panels for the marquee being prepared, they won'r be done in time for the new show's premiere, and in the list of priorities they don't rank very high. I believe that the current panels are placeholders while they finish/test digital panels. After all, once digital panels are put into place and wired up, it will be a major pain to deal with them if they fail. The framing for the marquee was done and they needed something to fill the space. The other side of this, from the linked photo, is that the bottom of the marquee is in place and that may mean that they don't intend to replace and rewire the panels. -- -- TV or Not TV ....
