When the stories broke about how groups were offering thousands of dollars
to heckle Trump on SNL, I remembered how -- as a former NBC Page -- I can
in theory get myself put on the guest list of any NBC show. Had I lived in
New York, I could have heckled... and I could have done so without anybody
offering to pay me.

SNL writers don't need to work to be unfunny. In fact, I'd be curious what
they would change about their methods should they choose to do so. Despite
all those who spoke out against Trump hosting the show, I'm certain Lorne
Michaels believes there's no such thing as bad publicity. Given how many
people are telling pollsters they would vote for Trump or Ben Carson,
Michaels might even be correct in that belief. That doesn't make it right.
If everybody (Republican, Democrat, and whatever Sanders claims to be)
currently running for president were to stop campaigning for the next six
months and, instead, actively took action to "make America great again,"
the electorate could then judge them on their actions instead of their
empty rhetoric. But that would never happen of course. In the case of
Trump, he has never done a single thing to make America great, and several
things he's associated with have directly contributed to the downfall of
America, yet nearly a quarter of voters believe he'd be a good president.
Other nations are disgusted by the corporate greed exemplified by Trump,
and they openly mock America's treatment of its own poor and minority
citizens, again exemplified by Trump's statements. Trump winning would
spell the end of the United States as a super power; no other nation would
want our commander-in-chief as a middleman, they wouldn't trust his
motives, and they wouldn't tolerate his openly racist and discriminatory
stance on their shores.

So, when will Ben Carson hosting?
