He was and always has been a hack. I don't think he has made as many as
high profile racist comments at that time, or at least if he had they were
not as well known. It seems most of the Trump-protests to this appearance
were based on his anti-immigrant hatred and general racism.

I am sure Lorne prides himself on a few hard edged jokes and criticisms,
and I do give them some credit for that (not as much as I suspect they are
giving themselves). I don't object to his appearance because of his racism
(the tv landscape would be a lot more barren if we instituted a racist-ban)
or even on the basis of unfair political advantage (if anything I suspect
this appearance will hurt Trump, accelerating his demise as he speeds past
his expiration date due to over-exposure). But it just seems like such a
cheap and humiliating ratings grab.
