I can't speak for CBS, but on ABC when they had NASCAR would usually hold 
off on going to the newscast until at least after the Victory Lane 
interview. They may do the same thing with IndyCar, but for the NBA they 
are quick to get to the newscasts, expect for The Finals. NBC does that 
with golf, or NASCAR these days, but the last two races have been on cable, 
so haven't see how they do things. ABC used go to the news pretty quickly 
after "MNF" or "Wide World", so i'm very familiar with that setup.
