A little over a year ago, I experienced a massive fatigue regarding all of the political satire shows. I gave them up cold-turkey. It wasn't that they were bad, but I had a "been there/done that" feeling. I also grew weary of the "preaching to the choir" manner of the hosts who sometimes confused applause with laughter... I greatly prefer the laughter (lloking right at you, Bill Maher). I sometimes watch some of John Oliver's Last Week Tonight segments on YouTube, but I still wish he'd go back to The Bugle podcast.
Am I wrong in sensing Comedy Central trending more towards so-called stoner comedy lately? They've always had a differing ratio of highbrow & lowbrow fare, but it has seemed to be leaning more towards the guy-gets-hit-in-the-nuts/viral video sort of programing choices lately.
