It has become clear that Gabriel Sherman at NY Magazine broke the story and
did most of the legwork. I haven't seen anyone else claim credit.

About the "key man" clause: TV people generally sign non-compete clauses
when they leave stations/networks. I am guessing that doesn't come with a
"key man" exit since it can happen even during the term of a contract. It
looks like a tremendous screw-up on Fox's part.
