I found that a lot of SCG's interviews just lay there. When he had a guest
who could/would go with him, it was great. But a lot of the celebrities a
show has to book have very little to say beyond "Watch my project." At
least with the segment producer getting two stories, the host can steer the
conversation to something marginally entertaining.

That would indeed be wonderful. Of course, those shows were the pinnacle of
advance research.
