Back in my college years, our campus TV station used to cover the football team's games. I typically directed the coverage. Our play by play guy was Chris Egan, who (two decades later) is now a veteran sports reporter in Seattle TV. One game, Egan was ill and couldn't make it; as a no-budget station, we had no backups. One quarter I actually had our university's president (who foolishly wandered past to get a cup of coffee) call the plays. But -- by far -- the worst announcer we had was me. I attempted it for one quarter, got every name wrong, every play wrong... I'm reasonably certain I referred to the field as yellow instead of green. Sadly, that tape appears lost to history, because it defined the phrase "epic fail."
