Going back to the start of this list, the main thing that engages me is how TV is changing and trying to figure out what is going on and what comes next. The traditional media is prone to distribute press releases from networks, cable companies, studios, etc., without any insight into what is happening or why.
There is an article in Slate which is an excerpt from a book called What Algorithms Want by Ed Finn. The article is about the Netflix streaming model, what makes it different from a broadcast model, and why it works so well.
