It is clear that Myers is hosting The Gong Show as a parody character. In the THR article with an interview with Tommy Maitland there were enough clues to verify it is Myers. Since the idea we don't know for sure is just part of the show's marketing we do not have to play along. For the rest of the story about OTA reality programming I was going to say that FOX misses Mike Darnell but I don't know if Darnell would have any fresh ideas that would breathe new life into the genre. His stunt dating shows can't compete with cable shows like Naked Blind Date or whatever it's called.
