Paar did a seminar appearance in the eighties or nineties at what is now called the Paley Center (available for video viewing there) in which he tells a story about how, in the late sixties, he and his then-college-age daughter Randy clashed over the Vietnam War. She took part in anti-war protests, and he was afraid that photos of her protesting would get into the newspapers and be used to embarrass him. (It ends up being a VERY funny story, believe it or not, involving a flag she was holding onto that Jack mistook for the North Vietnamese flag.)
