There is something about this AI reboot that just mystifies me. We all
remember what AI was at its peak: winners became household names (some for
longer periods that others), great ratings, and people quoting Simon Cowell
putdown lines for the less talented. Then the show slid off to obscurity:
nobody can remember who won or buy their music, the ratings tanked, Simon
became less outrageous as the culture shifted and eventually left the show.
So what does ABC think will bring the show back to prominence? Stunt
coaches like Hasselhoff?
