As a pilot episode for a sci-fi series that isn't connected to Star Trek, it was OK (better than Orville). But as canonical Trek, it was bitterly disappointing. What is regarded as the least successful of the Trek TV shows was the Enterprise prequel. For them to attempt another prequel, they needed to connect the dots, bridge the gap, or whatever other metaphor is suitable. In this, they failed. As with damned near every rebooted TV franchise over the last 20 years, it would have been better as a standalone entity. I've no need to pay to stream a poorly thought out concept, even if the effects are nifty, and even if the sound effects are familiar. -- Kevin M. (RPCV) -- -- TV or Not TV ....
