Of this I have no doubt, especially since Colbert has done this before.
Usually when Colbert shares an adult beverage with a guest, the bottle and
glasses are right there behind the desk. For whatever reason - maybe it was
discussed pre-interview but not a sure thing - Colbert went to one of the wall
cabinets behind the desk to get the hooch.
FWIW, I keep thinking about Fallon whenever Stephen brings out the booze, given
the reputation East Coast Jimmy has concerning drinking. The main differences
between the two on this point involve one having more 'adult' taste than the
other and being less accident prone. Strikes me as a bit unfair, but YMMV.

pre-interview. She might have told the segment producer she opens up more with
some alcohol or the segment producer/staff saw it in their materials and asked
her if it was okay if Stephen brought out a bottle and poured for them. We know
stuff like that is never spontaneous.
