I say this as someone who has done the hike. No tram. No gondola. I don’t mean to be insensitive towards those with physical impairments, but not everything needs to be handicapped accessible. There are three routes to hike to the Hollywood sign, or if the walk is too much (I’m overweight and can do it, but again I get that there are those with infirmities) you can go by horse. You can get great pictures of the Hollywood sign from the Griffith Observatory (fully handicapped accessible), and there you can get a better view of the city.
The traffic and congestion problems won’t be solved by this plan... Hollywood is always going to have parking problems. And if anything it’ll bring more people to stomp around atop Mt Wilson. While I think it would be fun to take a tram from the WB water tower to the Hollywood sign (Animaniacs fan here), it just seems excessive.
