One could easily see Riverdale and the DC shows moving to HBO Max except that the Netflix contract for most of them could get in the way of that.

I've always wondered how long the CW would be sustainable in its current form, given the shared ownership between AT&T & ViacomCBS, but to say the network is on its deathbed because their summer programming slate is weak isn't a compelling argument. The CW's summer shows have never been particularly compelling, except for when they hold back a show from the Spring (as in iZombie's last couple of seasons). What's going to be telling is what happens come fall, since they've already said they're starting their 'new season' in January (primarily because coronavirus shut down production on Riverdale & the Berlanti DC shows). And not for nothing, but the other networks don't exactly run The Complete Works of Shakespeare during the summer either. (Holy Moly, Don't, AGT, Masterchef, Ultimate Tag...do I need to go on?). And for YEARS ABC ran a Canadian import ("Rookie Blue") in a prime Thursday night slot over the summer...
