One of the depressingly-enduring myths of programming/web development is
that people in the field can work 60-70 hours a week without a problem.
What happened was that, in the early days, the people who got into it were
(and I say this with total love) freaks of nature who could do that because
they're freaks of nature. But the overlords went "Well, if they can work
*everyone* should be able to work 60-70 hours a week. Except for study
after study proving that it doesn't work: people, in general, can only do
about 40-50 hours a week (if that).

I say only partially tongue-in-cheek that everything that's gone wrong with
game shows in the past two decades is because when Millionaire took off
like a rocket, everyone thought "See: you don't need a traditional host to
host a game show!" Which conveniently omits that the host was Regis
Philbin: a freak of nature. And they assumed that everyone's a freak, when,
in fact, they aren't.
